Something Old, Something New

old, new, old, new, old, new....
For one thing, it's a NEW month!  I must have misplaced May - it was here a couple of days ago, I'm sure of it.  Oh, well, we'll just go with June for now...

I have an occasional Thursday off, and sometimes that means a trip to Gaye's house.  Today, it was to check out her NEW car...

It's a Nissan Cube and it suits her to a T.  The problem with someone like Gaye, who has a vibrant personality, is trying to convince the spousal unit that what's important in buying a new car is that it looks good on her!  She and her husband have been married long enough now that I think he gets it.  If it makes her happy, that's all that's important, right?!

While there, I checked out these OLD nibs.  Honestly, she finds stuff like this all the time.  These boxes were amazing enough even if they had been empty.  But they were full of interesting nibs, as well as printed ads and information folded up inside.

I also picked up some NEW tape we had decided we had to have.  Love the tape, love the tin.
More OLD stuff... I have bought a couple of old albums on eBay, some with cabinet cards in them.
And I got a couple more from Gaye.  I'm pretty sure I'll be taking Mary Ann Moss' next class, Full Tilt Boogie, which will utilize this type of album.

Gaye also found these OLD Kodak books that have numbered glassine pages to hold negatives.  Oh, the stories these pictures could probably tell.

I love the Cube. We are going to be looking for a smaller vehicle next year, we have the Armada now. I want a hybrid, hubby doesn't so I just don't know. He actually likes the Cube and I've test driven one, they are adorable!

I love all the finds, how cool. I never find anything like that around here, well we do have an antiques store but they are pricey on most stuff.

I have bought a Victorian album from ebay and plan to take Mary Ann's class this month too.

Love looking at all your finds.

Where does Gaye find all these cool things? Does she travel out of Louisville to find them? Ebay? I find Ebay has gotten so expensive that I seldom look there anymore, but locally, I rarely have any lucky finds anymore. Good on you both! Cool stuff!

Sandy - I was pleasantly surprised with the Cube and how comfortable it was.

Jan - you would have died looking at all those nibs. I especially liked the offer to send in 25 cents and get a Speedball Textbook. Those were the days. She finds everything locally. I think the nibs were from an estate sale. She spends a lot of time going to a lot of yard sales and estate sales. Sometimes they don't pan out, but sometimes she hits the mother lode! I opted out of going with her to the 400 mile yard sale this weekend. I don't do 100 degree heat index very well!

Oh, and a little advice about the "finds". You need to look in the garage and basement first.(I'm always with the men). And use different "eyes" Sometimes I hate when they tell me what its used for. I don't care, I'm seeing what I can use it for. :-)

I got the tape from www.touchofeurope.net/cavallini
It was $16 for the box of tapes. Teesha Moore has some information also. Pat told me about it.

I love it all too! StampDiva.com also has the tape, but they are out of stock right now. I'm sure it's just a matter of time until it pops up everywhere!
